Project Advisor
About the job
FMRS Advisory is a boutique strategic advisory firm working at the intersection of business, government and media.
We advise CEOs, executives and boards during complex, high-stakes situations that require judgement, clarity and discipline. Our work is hands-on and Partner-led, with senior attention embedded in every project.
We are seeking a Project Adviser (3–7 years’ experience) to strengthen how we plan, track and deliver our work across active client matters.
The Role
Melbourne | Hybrid | Full Time
You will work closely with Partners and senior advisors to ensure matters are properly planned, organised and delivered on time.
This is a delivery-focused consulting role. It requires organisation, foresight and the confidence to manage multiple moving parts without losing detail.
You will play a central role in keeping projects structured and moving – ensuring commitments are tracked, deadlines are met and standards are upheld.
Salary : $110,000-$130,000 depending on experience, plus 12% superannuation
Core Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain clear work plans and milestone trackers
• Manage action logs and follow-through across client matters
• Coordinate sequencing of deliverables and internal workflows
• Prepare meeting packs and structured follow-ups
• Support proposal assembly and document version control
• Coordinate scheduling and client logistics
• Track time against delivery and provide reporting insights
• Identify emerging bottlenecks or risks and escalate early
• Contribute to FMRS frameworks, templates and ways of working
You will be expected to bring order to complex matters, anticipate pressure points and take ownership of getting things done.
What We’re Looking For
• 3–7 years’ experience in consulting, government, public affairs or complex corporate environments
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Confidence managing competing deadlines across multiple work streams
• Attention to detail and pride in high-quality output
• Sound judgement about prioritisation and escalation
• A collaborative approach and commitment to collective outcomes
You should be comfortable working alongside senior leaders in a focused, team-based environment.
Professional Development & Growth
We put a high priority on professional development for our team. This is not a back-office coordination role. You will work directly with experienced Partners and senior advisers, gaining exposure to how we think through complex issues and manage high-stakes client work.
You will take ownership of defined work streams early and receive direct feedback in a team grounded in respect and shared accountability.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to build strong execution capability and sharpen judgement. As the firm grows, there will be opportunity to grow with it.
Our Standards
We value solidarity, clarity and excellence in delivery. We operate with high trust and high expectations, and we take collective responsibility for the quality of our work.
If this sounds like the kind of team you’d do your best work in, we’d like to hear from you.
